Fredvang Loops
Fredvang Loops is a development project aimed at establishing a primary gateway to Lofotodden National Park at Fredvang. Commissioned by Flakstad Municipality and the Lofotodden National Park Board, the project focuses on creating a sustainable infrastructure that balances high visitor pressure with the needs of the local community.
The concept introduces a series of connected "loops" and activity points, with Fredvang School serving as the central information hub and main parking area. Key initiatives include the "Town Center Loop" in Hovdan to stimulate local value creation, and the implementation of alternative transport solutions—such as shuttle buses and e-bikes—to reduce traffic congestion in sensitive areas like Torsfjorden. By following the national branding strategy for Norway’s national parks, Fredvang Loops ensures a high-quality, year-round experience for visitors while protecting the unique natural and cultural values of the region.
