Sundsveien
The Sundsveien project involved the addition to a historic building situated along the Nappstraumen strait in Lofoten. While the original building appears to be wood, it is actually constructed of concrete. To maintain a cohesive aesthetic and to create a solid structure that can withstand the harsh loacla winds, the addition also utilizes concrete, specifically prefabricated sandwich elements for the exterior envelope. The organic floor plan extends the building on all three levels, offering panoramic views of Nappstraumen and capturing the magic of the summer midnight sun. The new concrete volume contrasts with the existing structure while at the same time harmoniously extending its form.
